Longstanding Holy Cross Catholic School Volunteer Receives Provincial Senior Achievement Award
Congratulations to former longstanding Holy Cross Catholic School volunteer Linda Carnegie, who is one of 20 recipients from across Ontario to receive a 2023 Ontario Senior Achievement Award, which celebrates the contributions of people ages 65 and older. The recipients were recognized at an award ceremony held on Thursday, February 29, at Queen’s Park.
MPP Steve Clark also presented Linda with a Celebratory Scroll on Friday, March 8th at the North Grenville Municipal Centre. The event provided an opportunity for local community members to acknowledge her good work.
Linda has served as a longtime volunteer at Holy Cross Catholic School beginning in the 1980s, when her children attended the school. She returned in 2010 to continue her volunteer work, helping students with reading, mathematics, and providing a familiar face to students in the school yard during recess.
More recently, Linda has served for several years with the Kemptville Hospital Auxiliary, including three years as President. She led the Auxiliary through the COVID-19 pandemic, where she continued with successful fundraising initiatives, despite the challenges presented by the pandemic. Linda is also currently a volunteer for the Kemptville District Hospital and the Beth Donovan Hospice, where she sits on the Board of Directors.
